Joseph is a professional director and has led several public and private New Zealand companies through critical periods of growth or acquisition. He has extensive local and international experience. Joseph is a New Zealand qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a Bachelor of Business (BBus) from New Zealand and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Edinburgh Business School in the United Kingdom.
His past career highlights include roles at AMP assisting with its demutualisation and listing; Gartmore Group in London (one of the UK's largest fund managers) assisting during the time it was acquired by Nationwide Mutual of the USA; United Health Group in the USA where he was responsible for accounting for over US$300 million of investment funds and he has also acted as the CFO for the Waikato District Health Board.
In his governance roles, Joseph was the Chairman of Pulse Energy when it won first place in the Deloitte Fast 50 as the fastest growing company in New Zealand in 2012. Joseph has also helped manage the listing of several companies onto the New Zealand Stock Exchange and joined their boards, including Pulse Energy, Lateral Corporation, Cooks Coffee Company and Southern Charter. He assisted in the listing of Senior Trust Retirement Village Listed Fund and helped manage it while it was listed as a director of Senior Trust Management Limited until May 2021.
